It has been a very long time since I've written a blog. There has of course been a lot going on. My main priority has been school and it is kicking my ass. I am doing hours of rehearsing and hw every night. I feel like I am pushing myself into unknown territory and pushing myself creatively. It has been really great. I am also loving the City. I am now a third way done with my summer here and I already know I am not going to want to leave. I love walking around the city. It inspires me. I have seen so much great art as well. Just this week I went to two cabarets downtown and saw Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch in A Little Night Music. It's was amazing and I feel so lucky that I go to a school in a city that fosters creativity. I have also made some really great friendships here. I am never bored and very rarely not hanging out with one of them. I am excited to see where those relationships take me as well.

OH! and I have also started exploring in cooking! I am not that bad. True I haven't ma

de anything complicated but It's still fun and I am very proud of myself. :)

The Best NYC Day!

I had an absolute dream of a day yesterday. It could not have been more perfect if I tried. I got up yesterday morning and went to training for my new job on campus. (This was obviously not a highlight but I thought I would at least mention it)After that I got to see one of my favorite people from LA, Max Gidaley!! We went to go see La Cage Aux Folles. The production was amazing and I know why Douglas Hodge won the Tony. I enjoyed every second of the show and the best part was sharing it with a great friend. While waiting by the stage door who happened to Be coming out of rehearsals across the street?! ELAINE STRITCH!!! Not only is she a Broadway Legend but she is one of my personal favorites! She could not have been nicer to me and actually spent the time to have a conversation with me and Max. I was literally shaking because I was dorking out so much. It made my day! After that Max and I tried to win tickets to Next to Normal. I had tried to win tickets 4 times since being here and had not one. This time, thanks to Max being the amazing person he is, We won! Max couldn't go because he had to leave but Dianna my roommate was more than happy to fill in. We had front row seats and the show is beyond words. It has so much emotion I can't even begin to describe it. Alice Ripley was still in it and I am so glad I was able to see her. I have never seen a performer share so much of them selves in a show. I am inspired and her performance is my goal. I can only hope I can get the chance to be that open. I loved the day and didn't want it to end. It is now a wonderful memory and I am so lucky to have it.

NYC First Week

So I have officially been in the city for a week now. I am really enjoying all of my classes. This semester is starting out to be a pretty tough semester and I am going to have to bring my A game. Other than that I am having the most fun exploring the area. I am in a Great location. One block from Central Park and just a few blocks from Lincoln Center. I Have seen two shows since being here. I saw "Next Fall" Which I am really glad I was able to catch before it closed today. It was an amazing show and in a smaller theater so even though we had the student rush bad seating the seats were still great. Yesterday my school was giving out tickets to go see the Blue Man Group. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but it was so much fun. Today was also my first 4th of July away from home. After a morning of wandering around the City just taking it all in. I meet my friend Jeremy at his friends apartment on 111th. It was a gorgeous apartment and the kind I hope to have some day. We spent most of the time on there roof that had an amazing patio with an unbelievable view of the city and the Hudson. After I meet up with some school friends and we went to go see the fire works. It was a great 4th and A great close to my first week. I can not wait to see what else is in store.

Central park

Here's a couple Central Park photos :)

First Few Days in NYC!

I have been in NYC for the past couple of days and so far I am really enjoying it. My room is a little bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. It’s still not big but it is better than I had expected. I have also had a couple days of school and I am actually pretty impressed. Everyone here is really talented and they all seem to be very focused. That’s great for me because it means I am going to have to step up my game as well. As far as the city goes, I have done a couple fun things. I went to Brooklyn. Spent some time in Time Square and the theater district. I also went to a place on 106th and Amsterdam that had the best Margaritas. I am on my way to Central Park now! I will keep you posted!
